If I could encourage a young girl to do one thing, it would be to have a sense of identity. I speak with young girls often and it is becoming more and more obvious that our young girls have no true sense of identity. The advancement in modern technology have replaced the quiet time and everyone is busy asking the next person what they are doing? Texting is slowly eroding the English language.
So I want to share a few tips with young girls about how to start establishing a sense of identity:
1. Get Still. Set aside five minutes each day to do nothing but just think. At first it may seem like it is not working and you can expect some distractions but keep at it.
2. Start Writing. Purchase some form of writing tablet and began to journal especially in your quiet time. Write down the thoughts that come to your mind. No matter what it is just jot it down. If you are not a writer then try drawing or painting. Find your form of self expression.
Commit to this process for 5 minutes everyday and I guarantee you will start the wheels in motion of discovering your true self.
I will be back next week some other tips for empowering you with A Sense of Identity.
